Saudi Arabia: an assessment of recent developments and future challenges

Five years into Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia has accelerated its domestic transformation. Notwithstanding the reforms undertaken to date, many challenges remain. This lecture will provide an overview of Saudi Arabia’s domestic and foreign policy priorities, as the country seeks to diversify its economy away from oil. This includes understanding the balance Saudi decision-makers need to strike between conservatism and reform and Saudi Arabia’s foreign posture in view of regional developments.
